Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, our students are preparing to demonstrate the hard work they have put into their studies. We are writing to share the upcoming schedule for the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and End-of-Course (EOC) assessments starting on Tuesday, April 21.

These assessments are a vital opportunity for our students to showcase their academic growth and for our school to ensure we are providing the best possible education for every child.

📅 Testing Schedule
Please take a moment to review the dates below to ensure your student is prepared for their specific sessions:

Week 1 - Tuesday 4/21 through Friday 4/24
ELA for Grades 6, 7, and 8
Science for Grade 8
ELA II for HS
Government for HS
Biology for HS

Week 2 - Tuesday 4/28 through Friday 5/1
Math for Grades 6, 7, and 8
Science for Grade 8
Algebra I and II testing for HS
PLTW EOCs for HS

🚀 Keys to Testing Success
To help our students perform their best and feel confident, we ask for your partnership in focusing on these essential habits during testing weeks:

Prioritize Attendance: It is critical that students are present on their scheduled testing days. While "make-up" sessions are available, students generally perform better when testing in their familiar classroom environment alongside their peers.

Be On Time: Arriving at school with a few minutes to spare helps students settle in and reduces "testing anxiety." Testing sessions will begin promptly at the start of the day.

Charge That Chromebook: Testing is conducted digitally. Please ensure your student plugs in their device every night so they arrive with a 100% battery.

Prioritize Sleep: A well-rested brain thinks more clearly. Aim for 8–10 hours of sleep the night before a test.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast: Fueling the body helps with focus and stamina. If your student doesn't eat at home, breakfast is available at school!

💡 A Note of Encouragement
While these tests are important, they are only one measure of your child's many talents. Our goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where they can simply do their personal best.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community. If you have any questions regarding the testing schedule or procedures, please feel free to contact the main office.

Best regards,

Mrs. Gwen Ford

Butler Bears Ride Strong Pitching to 2-1 Win The Butler Bears leaned on a dominant outing on the mound to edge Sherwood 2-1 on Tuesday. Brandon Hammett was impressive, working 6.1 innings while allowing just one unearned run and striking out four. Hayden Dickens came in to help shut the door. The Bears broke through in the fifth, with Cohen Wilson and Bryson Kash each driving in a run to provide all the offense needed. Kash, Dickens, and Renner Martin each recorded a hit, while Martin added two stolen bases as Butler stayed aggressive on the bases. The Bears are back in action Saturday at Lincoln. #GOBEARS

Congratulations to our Competitor of the Week (3/30–4/5), Camden Davidson!

Camden, an 8th grader and three-sport athlete, is already making a big impact at BHS with an incredibly bright future ahead. At our home middle school meet last week, and Midway Meet, Cam broke the MS Boys 100m Hurdle record TWICE!

His performance surpasses one of the longest-standing records in Butler history set by Pat Ray back in 1977.

Keep up the great work, Cam! We’re excited to watch you continue to grow and compete at BHS. Let’s Go Bears!!
