Butler High School

Butler FCCLA took four students to State Competition in Springfield March 15-17. We had students compete in Star Events and Show Me Skills events. The results are:

Makenzie Algiere- Venture NLC placed in the top 5 with a Bronze Rating
Abbagail Vunovich - Toys that Teach- received a Bronze rating
Breanna Werner -Repurpose & Redesign- received a Bronze rating
Abbagail Vunovich and Addison Hawks- Interior Design placed in the top 5 with a silver rating

Show -Me Skills competition are state only contests that students prepare for between regionals and state and compete in on Sunday. To compete in Star events at state our students had to place in the top 2 at regionals. There are 14 regions in the state of Missouri so to place high enough to compete is an honor. This is my second year taking students to competition and I am very proud of our students and the effort they put into their projects. On the way home they were talking about next year by how to increase enrollment, community service projects and of course next years star events.

The Lady Bears softball team kicked their season off tonight with a Jamboree at Miller with Miller and Greenfield. The girls dropped a close one with Miller 2-3. Then, they rallied back to get a big 10-1 win over Greenfield.

Congrats to our Little League Wrestling Bears! 🐻🤼‍♂️

At the 2026 Youth Wrestling State Championships, our young Bears represented Butler with hard work and determination. We are proud of all of their accomplishments!

Boys Results:
🥇 Brayden McGuire – 14U 155 lb State Champion
🥇 Garren McGuire – 8U 115 lb State Champion
🥉 Covy Riley – 3rd Place
🏅 Julius Varns – 5th Place
🏅 Easton Adams – 6th Place

Girls Results:
🥈 Emmalee Nieder – Runner-Up
🥈 Myka Morrill – Runner-Up
🥉 Melanie Varns – 3rd Place
🏅 Blakely Erisman – 5th Place

🏆 Conference Champions! 🏆 The Butler Varsity Scholar Bowl Team won the Ozark Highlands Conference Tournament tonight! Leading the way for Butler was Easton Woolace, who had an outstanding season. Easton finished as the 1st place individual medalist in the Ozark Highlands Conference for the season.
