  • Board of Education Filing

    The Butler R-V School District will accept declarations of candidacy from any person interested in running for a position on the School Board in the April 3rd, 2018 election.  Persons interested may file at the Superintendent’s office located at 300 South Delaware, Butler, MO  64730.

    Filing will begin December 12th, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. and continue during the district’s regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Filing will not occur on days that the District Office is closed due to inclement weather.  Filing will also not occur on the following days when the District Office is closed for Christmas Break: December 22nd, 2017 through January 1st, 2018, and January 15th, 2018 for Martin Luther King Day.  Filing will end January 16th, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.  Names will appear on the ballot in the order in which the candidate filed.

  • Announcement of School Board Vacancy

    The Butler R-V School District is accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Larry Anderson.  The individual selected will serve on the Board of Education from the date of appointment to the annual organizational meeting of the Board of Education following the April 2018 election.

    According to Section 162.291, RSMo, applicants for the Board vacancy must be a citizen of the United States, a resident taxpayer of the district, a resident of Missouri for one year next preceding the election, and 24 years of age.  They must be current on all state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes and real property taxes on the candidate’s residence.  They must be free of certain criminal convictions.  All board members, whether elected or appointed, are required to complete 16 hours of training within one year of the date of election or appointment.

    Any district patron who wishes to be considered may send a letter of interest stating their reasons for wishing to fill the vacated Board seat to School Board President, Brad Stephens at 300 South Delaware, Butler, MO 64730.
